Harmony Science Academy-Houston teacher has been named a State Finalist for the Solve for Tomorrow Contest organized by Samsung. Because of her experience during Hurricane Harvey Ms. Walters was inspired to submit a project to the contest. She had an especially hard time during the storm when she found herself trapped in her neighborhood without any cell phones and in the dark, which led to Ms. Walters, with the help of the robotics team come up with an idea for a unmanned watercraft that could access residential areas during hard times. The team is just 1 of 255 state finalists that have submitted an activity plan. If the team is one of the 51 state winners they will then submit a project video, and await the final results that will be announced early April.
