Rocketry has become a central focus of the students in Harmony Science Academy-Beaumont. Their Rocketry club is in its third year, and they will compete in the Team America Rocketry Challenge (TARC) this year, just as they have for the last two years, competing against nearly a thousand teams from across the United States. The rocketry club focusses on building and designing rockets under the supervision of physics instructor Mr. Benli. Each meeting, they work on developing new designs based on varying parachute types, rocket lengths, engine types, overall mass, and so on. The dedicated students take routine trips to NASA Houston Rocketry Club to test their rockets and take pages of data to ensure that they can make the necessary adjustments to create the most optimal design to compete in the TARC challenge. This year they are hopeful that their experience and organization will take them all the way to the final stage of the national competition, which takes place in Virginia. Good luck team Beaumont!
