The Greater Houston Section of the American Chemical Society (ACS) has for many years been working diligently to help provide low income students with the opportunity to practice chemistry in science labs used at the University level. Project SEED, a program organized by ACS, has been doing just that, it helps provide students the opportunity to intern at a local university, and work closely with university professors. This year four Harmony students Adesuwa E., Babur N.,Owais R., Hotam Y. were invited to attend Prairie View University from June 13 to August 8, with a celebration of completion on Friday August 5. Interns are invited to continue participating in activities hosted during the year, such as SAT preparation courses, and the opportunity to present their research locally. Project SEED also pays a total of $2500 to each intern for successfully completing this 8-week STEM research program. We would like to thank Project SEED for providing this wonderful opportunity to our students, and helping them reach their full potential.
