Farris Adra and Ali Hammad, both high school students from Harmony School of Political Science & Communication located in Austin, created an award winning project titled “Disease Exposing with Autonomous Drones”. With this project, they attended the Austin Energy Regional Science Festival last spring, where they were presented 2nd place award. They then competed at Harmony Science & Engineering Fair (H-SEF), where over 80 projects -all regional winners across three southern states- were on display, and they were awarded a silver medal. The students were also awarded an all-expenses-paid trip to Hong Kong this past August to represent Harmony as the United States student delegation in the 48th Joint School Science Exhibition, where they displayed their projects and received feedback from world class judges in this international science exhibit. Farris and Ali are determined to continue their pursuit of engineering solutions applicable to the medical field.
